After an advertisement appeared in the paper, 21 like-minded people who had an interest in Austin Seven motorcars met on the 6th August 1986.

The attendees of that meeting agreed that there was enough interest to investigate the formation of an Austin Seven membership club.  A steering committee was formed.

On 13th August 1986, the following people formed the steering committee to progress towards a formal Austin Seven Club in WA.   The Steering Committee consisted of

Colin Maxfield

Ron and Ann Hayes

On 10th September, 1986 20 prospective members witnessed the formation of the Austin Seven Club of Western Australia.

Tom Newsome was elected President, Clive Ball was Secretary, Ron Hayes was Vice President and other members of the Committee were Colin Maxfield, Warren Flanders and Ted Stokes.
